Building a Rams Horn Sled by Keith Mitchell of Shipwright Skills
When experienced shipwright, Keith Mitchell, agreed to use TotalBoat in a fun project he was planning, we knew it was a great chance to get Keith hooked on TotalBoat epoxies and varnishes. A traditional shipwright, Keith attended the Northwest School of Boatbuilding and was exposed to the typical offering of marine adhesives and finishes. This sled build was an excellent opportunity to show how the faster dry times of Gleam Varnish and the versatility and ease of using the High Performance Epoxy could up Keith's game. Keith was impressed and created an epic Ram's Horn type "Grindewalder" sled that is common to the Swiss Alps.
Keith's sled will be put to good use in the Green Mountains of Vermont where his shop is based. Keith is a master of many fine crafts, including a favorite of ours, boatbuilding. With a resume full of amazing art and functional builds, Keith is a master craftsman and superior maker and one with whom we were very excited to collaborate.
Check out Keith's website at [ Ссылка ] where you can find the amazing Comic he sketched of the sled and its parts and pieces as well as the building and assembly process. Then head over to Keith's social channels and subscribe to his YouTube channel so we can push him to post some of his great content there.
Thanks for watching! Let us know if you plan to build a sled like Keith's Rams Horn Sled so we can get the armada built and plan the first big race!
