Abstract:
This case study examines the Test and Balance of a complex smoke control system in a correctional facility. This building utilizes single duct systems with automatic changeover dampers served by multiple fans during both normal and smoke control modes. Since the system must support 24/7 operation without the ability to evacuate occupants, prioritization must be given to the smoke control mode without compromising indoor environmental quality during normal operation.
Learning Objectives:
1. Recognize TAB contractors' pivotal role in optimizing HVAC systems during the design phase, ensuring alignment with operational needs.
2. Understand how TAB contractors ensure proper installation and compliance with design specifications during the construction phase.
3. Learn about the comprehensive testing procedures conducted by TAB contractors to validate system performance during the acceptance phase.
4. Explore the ongoing support provided by TAB contractors post-occupancy, including issue resolution and system optimization.
