The legendary N95 respirator (face mask) can filter 0.1 um size coronavirus even though the filter nonwoven has 10 um pore size. This is due to the electrostatic charges in the polypropylene nonwoven that was generated by high voltage corona discharge during nonwoven manufacturing. PolyK developed a high performance nonwoven with 20-time more electrostatic charges than PP nonwoven and, as shown in the video, it can attract lots of more shredded tissue paper than equivalent PP film. We expect N95 respirator (face mask) made with PolyK patent-pending super charge nonwoven can have significantly higher coronavirus filtration efficiency, longer shelf life, and longer service time than current commercial respirators. In addition, the electrostatic charges can survive 120 C high temperature (disinfection), and can be regenerated by human breathing or movement, make it a truly regenerative high efficiency respirator/face mask.
