There are two words that, when uttered aloud, are guaranteed to gather a crowd of guitar players asking questions and chattering in hushed, reverent tones. Those words, of course, are "Brazilian Rosewood," and the guitar players at Wildwood are no different. That's why we're so excited to showcase this highly-limited run of 1959 Les Paul Standards with Exclusive Murphy Lab aging and REAL BRAZILIAN ROSEWOOD FINGERBOARDS (sorry for shouting--we get excited about this kind of thing!). There are six total finishes (Tom’s Cherry, Tom’s Tea, Tom’s Tri-Burst, Tom’s Lemon, Tom’s Dark Burst, and Murphy Burst), and fifty guitars will be built in each color for a total of only 300 pieces worldwide. As their names imply, Tom Murphy himself developed and selected each finish, and each guitar also has a unique aging pattern exclusive to this run.
Truly, they're some of the most singular Les Pauls we've ever had the privilege of showcasing. Gibson went all-out with what's underneath the finishes, too: these guitars have hand-selected AAAA maple tops that knocked our socks off! They also sound glorious thanks to their Custombucker pickups, which deliver a time-capsule perfect example of powerful PAF tone. We're proud to showcase these pieces of Gibson history, and we have no doubt they will bring lucky Gibson aficionados a lifetime of musical joy.
