Il mio viaggio alla scoperta del Basso Salento comincia dal Monteforte Resort, una prestigiosa dimora del 1850 incastonata nel centro storico di Ugento, a soli 4 km dalle sue Marine, celebri per la costa sabbiosa che ricorda colori e trasparenze caraibiche e famose nel mondo come le "Maldive del Salento".

Vi porto alla scoperta di un resort con suite esclusive (di cui una dotata di hammam privato in camera), colazione servita sul terrazzo panoramico e idromassaggio sul roof garden nel cuore del borgo antico di Ugento che ho l'onore di aver ribattezzato il "Borgo di Zeus".
A Ugento, infatti, è stata ritrovata una preziosissima statua in bronzo, risalente al 500 a.C., che raffigura il Dio degli Dei colto nell’attimo in cui sta per scagliare un fulmine.
Questo reperto è custodito nel Museo Archeologico di Ugento.

My journey of discovery in Basso Salento starts here, from Monteforte Resort, an 1850 mansion, set in the historic center of Ugento, just 4 km from its Marine, famous worldwide as the “Maldive of Salento” for its sandy coastline, so reminiscent of tropical colors and transparent waters.

Follow me to discover a unique resort with B&B formula, with 7 suites (one of them with private hammam in the room), breakfast served on the terrace, Jacuzzi on the roof garden and electric bikes to move around the old town of Ugento, which I’m honoured to rebaptise with the unusual name of "Borgo di Zeus": the highly prized Statue of Zeus, made of bronze and dating back to 500 BC, represents the God of the Gods in the moment that he is about to hurl a thunderbolt and is hold into the new Archaeological Museum of Ugento.
