*** WARNING ***
Apparently some people don’t read the entire description before trying things, so I am adding this warning AT THE TOP for the benefit of the lazy and impulsive.
***CAREFULLY*** read the hazards below before attempting this. Proceed with caution! If you break something, we’re all very sorry for your inconvenience, but the blame is not for someone else.
This is a 2004 GMC Envoy, but this should apply to many makes and models. Hopefully this helps someone, I spent way too long yesterday being brain-dead about this!
IMPORTANT: Most wrenches with open on one end, "box" on the other end are angled, not flat. USE ONE THAT HAS THIS ANGLE SO YOU CAN FACE IT AWAY FROM THE WINDSHIELD!
Be careful the wrench is not touching the windshield and if so, take steps to protect the windshield or damage to the windshield could occur. The wrench I used was angled up away from the windshield, ALSO, this particular vehicle has a plastic faring (as you see) which elevates the wrench off the glass some, so IN MY CASE, there was no risk unless I'd somehow hit the wrench itself. YOUR VEHICLE MAY BE DIFFERENT!
Proceed AT YOUR OWN RISK!
