The U.S. Mission to the United Nations will hold a memorial for the late Madeleine K. Albright at the United Nations to honor her legacy as the 64th U.S. Secretary of State and as Permanent Representative to the UN. Ambassador Linda Thomas-Greenfield will host the event, which will include brief remarks by the Ambassador, the UN Secretary-General, the President of the UN General Assembly, current and former United States government officials, former students of the late Secretary, as well as the Secretary’s family. The event will feature a short montage of official photos and video from the Secretary’s time at the UN. Invited guests will include representatives of diplomatic missions to the UN, senior UN staff, current and former U.S. government officials, and will be open to other UN badge holders. The event will be held in the General Assembly Hall of the United Nations. There will be open seating at the memorial and delegations may sit in any undesignated seat. VIP seating will be reserved at the front of the GA Hall.
