This video has been a long and painful video to make! There is nothing worse than looking at a delicious Wagyu boneless Ribeye knowing that it will be at least 45 days before you get to try it. Talk about torture!
I have had a lot of people ask why I would even bother to dry age Wagyu. I have been told its a waste of time, waste of money, and pointless. Maybe it is, maybe it isnt! However, we are going to find out together.
Now I did have a few issues starting off with losing power for 3 days. I was so nervous because that was a big expensive cut of beef that was not being cooled properly. Thankfully I have a Yeti Cooler and the ice machine at the place I live at still had ice. I had to wrap it up in foil and keep it in there until we got power. Talk about a stressful time. Luckily the fine people at SteakAger helped keep me calm and helped me come up with solutions.
Now lets talk about the other issue I had. The 45 days was up when I was not home! It was torture again. Luckily Melissa vacuumed sealed it and put it in the freezer. This was all about teamwork I tell you.
Lets not forget the tragic thumb accident. Luckily we were not filming when it happened. The knife slipped and was falling towards Melissa toes so I caught it and ended up slicing my thumb to the bone. Luckily it was a nice clean cut and they were able to use glue.
