Sometimes good films deviate from their source material in annoying ways. The 2005 adaptation of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice by Joe Wright does a lot of stuff right — it's gorgeous, the cast is great, etc., but there are reasons why it suffers when compared to 1995's BBC adaptation by Andrew Davies.
