This is from a couple of weeks back - doing some scraping work and test-fitting the neck and body of the Ultra-ultra-wide 6 string guitar I'm making for Vince. It's going slow as I'm waiting on the completion of the 2nd 9string EMG pickup (yes, 9 string!) before I can up a gear and head towards completion. I started this body carve with gouges... but then decided to continue it with that most traditional of power tools, the angle grinder loaded with a 40 grit flapped disc. Oh yeah. After a bit of practice I found it easier than I had expected (dustier too!) - and plucked up the courage to use it on this build. There is of course no going back if you mess up... but I didn't mess up - and the approach gave me confidence that I'll be able to do other carves (such as custom Les Pauls) in future. I think the key to using this tool is to know when to stop i.e. with a little more to remove - and then to switch to hand tools such as cabinet scrapers and sand paper to 'zero in' on the final shapes.
