At GEC24 New York, Macquarie Group CEO Shemara Wikramanayake spoke with Ajay Banga, President of the World Bank Group, about the pressing need for investment in the energy transition within emerging markets, and discussed Ajay’s progress towards the World Bank’s target of dedicating 45% of all investments towards climate and energy by 2025. Ajay shared his aim to increase collaboration between public institutions like multilateral development banks and the private sector to provide more catalytic capital in support of the transition.
