In this video you see the 2018 (Renault) Alpine A110 testing on the Nürburgring. Dynamic debut of the A110 is rumoured at the 2017 Goodwood festival of Speed!

Alpine has revealed that the new mid-engined sports car uses a 1.8-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 249bhp and 320Nm of torque. Power is delivered to the rear wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox. The A110 makes use of a lightweight aluminium construction and tips the scales at 1,080kg, so that 249bhp figure – almost 100bhp down on that of the Porsche 718 Cayman S – translates into 230bhp per-tonne.

The lightweight construction paired off with the 249bhp motor means the A110 from 0-62mph in 4.5 seconds - a tenth of a second faster than a Cayman S - and on to a limited top speed of 155mph.

The finished car’s design brings the cues and curves of the original A110 ‘Berlinette’ into the 21st century, and is almost identical to that of 2016’s Alpine Vision Concept. It’s a slippery shape with a low drag coefficient, featuring aerodynamic trickery such as a flat floor and functional diffuser.

The cabin uses a blend of leather, aluminium and carbon-fibre trim, while driver and passenger sit in one-piece bucket seats. The cockpit design stays true to last year’s concept, with the same centre console, central infotainment screen, digital instrument panel and plenty of quilted leather.
