As you probably know, muting and unmuting yourself during a Zoom call can sometimes be a hassle, especially if you need to do it frequently. So, I decided to create a hardware hotkey that allows you to mute and unmute your microphone with a single press of a button.
For this project, I used an ESP32-S3 microcontroller board, which has a USB Native interface that makes it easy to communicate with the computer running the Zoom app in Windows. I connected a push-button switch to the board and wrote a simple program that listens for the button press and sends the appropriate signal to the computer to mute or unmute the microphone.
This hotkey is very easy to use and can save you a lot of time and hassle during your Zoom calls. If you're interested in building one yourself, I'll leave a link to the project details and code in the video description. Thanks for watching, and I hope this project inspires you to create your own hardware hacks!
*Note*
"Ever since Espressif removed the 5V tolerant statement from their datasheet no one felt safe connecting 5V directly to the digital input pins, but the news is out now, according to the CEO of Espressif himself, their boards are indeed 5V tolerant ON THE DIGITAL INPUT PINS. "

Also, this button works the same in 3.3v, so you can use it.
