(21 Sep 2015) United States Secretary of State John Kerry, along with his Indonesian counterpart, announced Monday that Indonesian President Joko Widodo will make his first visit to America since coming into office.
Kerry said the Indonesian leader will meet President Barack Obama in the White House on October the 26th.
Indonesian Foreign Minister Retno Marsudi said she wanted to elevate to a higher level the five year old comprehensive bilateral relationship between the two countries.
A statement from the White House said that as leaders of two of the largest democracies in the world, Obama and Widodo planned to discuss expanding areas of bilateral cooperation as well as regional and global issues.
