Thunderbolt 2 to 3 adapter and thunderbolt 2 cable are only necessary for thunderbolt 1 or thunderbolt 2 enabled machines.

Run this script if you are using a non-thunderbolt 3 enabled Mac: [ Ссылка ] do not forget to disable SIP before running this script, it is totally safe to do, the EGPU community is great, and [ Ссылка ] is a great resource for any more technically questions you may have, along with performance benchmarks.

But seriously, an EGPU is a great way to make a solid older MacBook Pro, like a 2011 MacBook Pro, 2012 MacBook Pro, 2013 MacBook Pro, 2014 MacBook Pro, or 2015 MacBook Pro exceptionally more powerful. It can add life to a 2014 iMac, 2012 iMac, 2013 iMac, 2015 iMac, and obviously the 2017 and 2019 iMac. The Mac Mini 2018 will also support this EGPU, and the only other Mac Mini I would use an EGPU with is the 2012 i7 quad core mac mini.
