The ANC and its alliance partners, COSATU, SACP, and SANCO have improved their relations, which deteriorated under former President Jacob Zuma. They concluded their first political council summit since the ANC conference which elected President Cyril Ramaphosa last December. Though the partners have moved closer to finding each other, the SACP still wants a reconfiguration of the alliance as a pre-condition to support the ANC in next year's election.
