We have gotten a lot of calls asking about spraying a few of the current cleaning products for corona virus with an electrostatic paint sprayer so we did a quick test with our electrostatic paint sprayers to see if it would work. We did this because electrostatic paint sprayers are very expensive and didn't want someone purchasing one without ensuring it would work.
Please note this was simply a test and we are not wearing the proper PPE for this job which would typically include potentially a hazmat suit, respirator, and more.
In our test the cleaning product we used didn't get charged and didn't attract to surfaces like it would if the electrostatic charge was working well. This may have been due to the particular cleaning product we were using. The product is meant to be sprayed and left on the surface without the need to wipe it up and it doesn't leave a film or harm surfaces.
We did have no problem spraying it with a basic airless like the one below

or for a handheld option this one is good (for smaller quantities and not high volume)
