Roof Insulation installs and distributes Isoboard Ceilings. Visit our website [ Ссылка ] for more info on the Isoboard Ceilings.
Isoboard thermal ceilings are a perfect fit for most modern homes.
Because Isoboard Ceilings are recognized as a thermal ceiling.
While we are experiencing climate change and global warming the more insulation, we have the better.
In this application, we fit the Isoboard between the beams as a retrofit.
Importantly remember the beams are not very square.
It is important to measure each Isoboard section as we move along.
And yes, there will be small gaps between the beams and the Isoboard.
And this is not a problem as a small half-round cornice will be fitted in order to hide the gap giving a neat clean finish at the end.
An important factor to consider with Isoboard is that noise travels through Isoboard almost as though there is no ceiling.
For this reason, we install insulation like Aerolite that has a great noise reduction coefficient NRC 1.1.
The insulation serves two main reasons.
(1) The insulation acts as a barrier to stop noise from entering the home. With sheeting roofs on rainy days. Also, if you are in the bathroom everyone can hear you.
(2) Although Isoboard has good thermal insulation properties it is not enough as per the SANS legislation.
(3) In most cases, a layer of 100mm Aerolite will achieve if not exceed the required R-value for all new homes.
Isoboard Ceiling Benefits
• Aesthetically pleasing
• Cooler in summer and warmer in winter
• Saving energy
• No painting
• Isoboard does not absorb water
• Installing Isoboard as a retrofit is a clean application
Isoboard Glue
Isoboard Glue and cornice glue are the same thing. The Isoboard glue is available in buckets or alternatively in tubes that can be used in the standard silicone guns.
The Isoboard glue must be used against the batons to hold the ceiling panels in place.
Isoboard Clips
The clips are used on the boards to secure against the batons.
We have added more info about Isoboard and the specific glue used in the comments section below
Importantly always fit insulation above Isoboard ceilings with sheeting roofs. Pitched roof fitting Isoboard.
Cut Isoboard panels to fit between beams. Very rarely are the beams square so space will be left between beams and Isoboard.
The gap is not a problem as the small half round cornice will hide the gap allowing for a clean finish.
Adding Isoboard ceiling panels ensure there is a tight fit between boards add glue and screws.
Isoboard ceilings are regarded as thermal ceiling board.
However, fitting under IBR sheeting always add insulation to stop noise from entering the home.
Because Isoboard has a low NRC (Noise reduction co-efficient) insulation must be added at the install stage.
Once completed adding half-round cornices.
Isoboard ceilings fitted between beams in a flat roof application.
This application includes 50mm soundproofing insulation fitted above the Isoboard ceiling.
Fitting batons between to support the high-density soundproofing insulation.
Cut Isoboard ceiling panels and fit boards between beams add screws to hold the ceiling in position.
Moving onto the next block you can see silver foil, read more about this in the comments section below.
High-density soundproofing is between beams. Read more in the comments section below where we have more detail.
Half-round cornice fitted between the beam and the ceiling to finish off the application.
For more information on the glue, the information will be added in the comments section below. The silicone type glue is specifically made for EPS.
The half-round cornice closes off the ceiling gaps as most beams are never straight.
The finished ceiling is a neat clean modern look. Isoboard ceilings clean thermal insulation ceiling sheets.
