Welcome to the first video of the Boilerhouse Garage London-Brighton 2022 Classic Car Run. The Cavalier is entry number 152 and in this video we're driving from my home near the Oxfordshire Cotswolds to The Brooklands Museum near Weybridge, Surrey/Greater London. On arrival at Brooklands, I take a quick look around the cars that are in similar start time slots as ours, I also meet a chap who previously owned the Cavalier and used it to practice his welding skills on when it was taken from long-term storage.. stored under wet carpets he informs me, which explains the unique-looking rusty patina!
There were two car shows on at the museum, including an American car show, but the footage I recorded of my walkaround there was sadly the first of a few corrupted files on my new Motorola Verve Cam (please see previous video for details). I would have also liked to have had a closer look at Concorde, but perhaps next time!
Apologies for my sadly unavoidable "uumm.. err.." stammering, as adlibbing without a script I sound like a cross between Alan Partridge and Zippy! Please feel free to take the piss in the comments as a) British people shouldn't mind banter and b) all comments, positive or otherwise, helps boost the video's popularity. I do normally try to edit out each "um" but my phone's editing software was really struggling with the file size, so I'm afraid you'll umm.. just have to erm.. put up with it!
Join me in the next video which begins where this one left off, from the start of the run, to the Rural Life Living Museum in Tilford, near Farnham, the main checkpoint.
