The shells are ready for the setup. But first we need to take off the original pads. We placed the modified snare pad there, as we do not have the original snare. The new pads are a bit heavier than the Roland Pads but the MDS-9 rack is steady enough to deal with their weight. They will be mounted to the same L-rods. We apply the memory clamps which came with the Gibraltar mounts. It can be tricky to arrange the kit on such a small rack, as the pads are bigger in diameter. The snare is mounted on a conventional stand.
