ABOUT THIS FEED:
Santa Fe Junction is located in the West Bottoms area of Kansas City, Missouri.
Multiple lines feed into this massive complex of bridges, yards, diamonds, and interlockings, including:
BNSF’s former Santa Fe (AT&SF) Southern Transcon between Chicago and LA (Emporia/Marceline Subs).
BNSF's former Frisco (SLSF) line south to Springfield and Tulsa (Ft. Scott Sub).
BNSF's former Burlington Route (CB&Q) line north to Lincoln, Omaha, and Council Bluffs (St. Joseph Sub).
KCS's Pittsburgh Sub south to Joplin and Texarkana.
NS's former Wabash (WAB) line east to St. Louis (Kansas City District).
UP's various lines, including their former Missouri Pacific (MoPac/MP) line east to St. Louis (Sedalia Sub), the Kansas Sub west to Topeka, and the Falls City Sub north to Omaha.
Transfers between the various yards are done by the Kansas City Terminal (KCT).
The actual Santa Fe Junction (SFJ) is at ground level, with a set of 4 diamonds, with 4 main tracks, 2 east-west, 2 north-south. There are connecting tracks in all 4 "quadrants" of the diamond.
Passing Amtrak trains are the: Missouri River Runner between Kansas City and St. Louis (consists are wyed here) and the Southwest Chief on BNSF's Southern Transcon. Kansas City Union Station is located to the east of the Junction.
There is a ATCS layout available for the KCT.
Our cams will capture more than 60 trains a day!
There are currently 2 cameras here, both 360's, a.k.a., PTZ's (pan-tilt-zooms).
When’s the next train? Yeah, we get this a lot. You can figure out the next Amtrak passenger train with this handy link: [ Ссылка ]
There’s no schedule for freight trains, but some of our more knowledgeable members will provide real-time information when it’s available. Please refrain from asking.
