North Korea celebrated its 73rd anniversary with a military parade in Pyongyang on September 9, 2021. A noticeably thinner Kim Jong-Un, North Korea’s supreme leader, watched from the stands as battalions dressed in orange hazmat suits marched in formation. Absent from this year’s military parade were the ballistic missiles that usually take centre stage at North Korean events.
