Building a World Class Cyber Workforce

On November 1, 2013, the George Washington University Cybersecurity Initiative hosted a panel of speakers from government and industry who addressed the education and professionalization of the cybersecurity workforce. Dr. Diana Burley, co-author of the recent National Academies report, "Professionalizing the Nation's Cybersecurity Workforce," discussed the findings and a panel discussed their views on the following topics and questions:
What types of critical training and skills are necessary for a world class cyber workforce?
Which resources should be provided for a well-trained and committed cyber cadre?
What are the responsibilities of government, the private sector, and academia in enhancing the cyber workforce?
How should all sectors cooperate to ensure that the cyber workforce is ready for all challenges?
Are standards necessary for the cyber workforce?
