Nice early start after breakfast, I woke at 5am…. So two coffees for breakfast.
Coniston Hall is a clean and tidy campsite… if a little noisy.
Managed to pack my bag in the wrong order completely, leaving loads of stuff out of my sleeping pack.
We started the walk at a good pace and headed back towards the village. Once we’d cleared the first up hill section, my friend Claire told me she was having problems with her feet. As the rain was coming in (very welcome I must add) we stopped to put on waterproofs and take a short break.
After leaving Tarn Hows , Claire’s feet started giving her problems again. Struggling with the downhills, before we hit Colwith Force we took a break to check on Claire’s feet. After some taping up, we decided to add a few hundred yards to our walk and stop at Chesters of Skelwith Bridge.
One bottle of cider and a brownie later, we set off for Langdale. I decided to give Claire’s feet a break from the last downhill section and divert a little on to the valley floor on the old coach road.
A few drinks and some music time at the Old Dungeon GHYLL later, we settled in the for the night.
