This 2025 Volkswagen Tiguan gets a new platform, a bolder look, more power, more premium materials, new technology and it’s now offered only as a 5-passenger vehicle in North America. Gone is the option of a third row. Availability, pricing and fuel economy numbers will be available closer to the launch date.
Under the hood is a revised 2L turbocharged 4-cylinder with an 8-speed automatic transmission, 201 horsepower, up from 184 horsepower. Torque number remains the same at 221 lb-ft. This 2025 model is 170 pounds lighter which Volkswagen says, will improve fuel efficiency and acceleration.
The 2025 Volkswagen Tiguan has more of an ID.4 look to it now with a shorter rear overhang. It’s more athletic looking than the outgoing model with slimmer headlamps and an available LED light bar and illuminated logo. Its wheelbase is slightly longer. This new model has new wheels and colour options, standard 17” wheels, available 18 - 20” wheels. The new colours include Avocado Green, Ascot Grey (shown in the photos) and Monterey Blue.
The 2025 Volkswagen Tiguan cabin gets some nice updates with improvements to interior quality with premium materials like wood décor, a double stitched centre console, updated leather and cloth upholstery and the gear selector has moved to the steering column freeing up space at the centre console.
The 2025 Volkswagen Tiguan gets the next generation infotainment and user interface with a standard 10.25” digital driver display and 12.9” touchscreen, available 15” touchscreen. Wireless Apple Carplay and Android Auto are standard. There is a rotary dial at the centre console for easy adjustment of volume and drive modes and available 30-colour ambient lighting with up to five preset themes.
