Pro tip: Bury your loot (also, don't bury it beside your tents and barrels in the forest)

Non-pro tip (found this out while burying and digging up my stashes): while holding a shovel, pickaxe, or gardening hoe, left-click to prepare land for planting. left-clicking will clear the area and make it easier to discover buried stashes. You can move around to search after left-clicking
