Macro Talk is for anyone remotely interested in closeup and macro photography, and is brought to you by @Allan Walls Photography. The livestream is for all macro photographers, at every level from beginner to seasoned expert. As a dedicated and experienced macro photography teacher, Allan has made hundreds of videos and written as many articles on every aspect of closeup and macro photography and can answer most of your questions on cameras, lenses, accessories, focus stacking, insect preparation, editing and retouching, focus stacking software, or anything else you need to know - and he does it all with his trademark sense of humor. So if you want to learn some macro photography and have a few laughs at the same time, you have come to the right place.
This is our first episode and I have no idea who, if anyone, will show up, but just like the the regular Macro Talk Livestream, the agenda is up to you. Oh, and you don't have to be European to attend. You don't even have to know what Europe is... you just have to show up at 2PM central time on Thursday - any Thursday - and I'll see you there.
LATE ENTRY - MacroTalkToo #1 just wrapped up and that was the best Livestream yet - It is all about the audience - there is so much energy and the great questions just kept coming. This is going to be a great addition to my Thursdays! There is no room here to answer the questions I missed so I will answer them in the comments. But let me share a couple of links as this can really help the channel - if need any of this stuff, consider using the link to buy it!
The Amscope 4X objective I rave about- [ Ссылка ]
The Nikon Z-6 camera body we discussed... [ Ссылка ]
The wonderful Raynox DCR150 - [ Ссылка ] and the DCR 250 is also available from the same seller
Superglue applicator bottles - finally a way to prevent clogged bottles and wasted CA glue [ Ссылка ]
EVEN LATER ENTRY - when I came back to answer the questions I missed, the chat had vanished - my apologies! I will figure out something for next time and will come back by and answer any questions left in the comments below. See you next week!
Notes, links, and extras will be added after the program every Thursday. Please be aware that some of these Amazon links are affiliate links for which I may make a small commission if you buy something on Amazon after using one of these links. The commission is paid by Amazon, not you.
My gear,
When in the studio I use the Nikon D850 as my main camera - [ Ссылка ]
My primary video lens is a 24-70mm f/2.8 zoom - [ Ссылка ]
My main focus stacking body is a Nikon D7500 - [ Ссылка ]
A Nikon D3400 is for emergencies - [ Ссылка ]
A Fujifilm XT-2, with a battery grip, is my main microscope camera but also does duty as a livestream back up camera - [ Ссылка ]
I use Adobe software for almost everything, because it is good and the support is fantastic. I am an outspoken fan of Zerene Stacker, and for anyone who thinks I must be a Zerene employee to speak of it in such glowing terms and to recommend it so unconditionally, I am not. And the fact that Rik Littlefield is a good friend is purely coincidental. And the fact remains, thaZerene is just the only complete professional macro focus stacking software program on the market. It is in a class of its own.
That is just some of the stuff I use - if you have any questions about my macro gear, or my recording equipment, just ask.
All my audio, music and sound effects come from Epidemic Sound - I have been with them for about 3 years and they are pretty awesome - www.epidemicsound.com
Unless I state differently, all the photography you see on my channel, in my videos and on my website, was done by me. I tell you that so that you know I would never blame another photographer for my photographic mediocrity. But I love taking pictures, so I do.
