As face masks become more important in fighting the COVID-19 spread, hospitals are facing a deadly shortage. To help fill the gap, retailers like New Balance, Ralph Lauren, and Under Armour have started making masks out of factories that once produced shoes and clothes. Business Insider spoke with two companies about how they've halted normal production, designed prototypes, and set up mask-manufacturing lines, all within a matter of days.
