I claim at the start of this video I'm about to start cutting but the video rather focuses on the design diagram and how to read it. I go thru the instructions and the proportions of the gem, haltingly and stumblingly... And, YES, you are correct -- I make a mistake in referring to the C/W proportion as "Crown to Height" which it is not; it's "Crown to Width" which is very different! (No wonder the crown in the diagram doesn't look like it's only 1/4 the height! That'd be because it isn't.) Then I run out of juice on my phone battery and don't quite get to start cutting until the next video to be posted.
If you enjoy this video, please 'like' and subscribe! Feedback of any kind (if civil) is also welcome.
Also, please note that I am a BEGINNER, and this series is a 'vlog' that shares my experience of learning to facet. I do not claim to know what on Earth I'm doing, nor do I suggest you imitate my methods. Rather, I'd like to share the joy and inspiration that gem faceting has brought to me so far, in the hope that others will enjoy watching, and possibly start faceting too. You'll do a much better job than me! Also, if you're an experienced amateur gem faceter, I welcome your feedback. Thanks for watching and reading.
