Four nuns from the Missionaries of Jesus congregation who had protested against rape-accused Bishop Franco Mulakkal wrote to Kerala Chief Minister Vijayan seeking his intervention after they received transfer orders from their superior. The nuns claimed the orders were part of an attempt to “sabotage the case”.
4. Delhi Court questions police for filing charge sheet without government approval in JNU ‘sedition’ case: The police told the court they will get sanction from the state government within 10 days.
5. The Enforcement Directorate said it had attached religious preacher Zakir Naik’s assets worth Rs 16.40 crore in connection with a money laundering case. The investigating agency said the assets are in the name of his family members in Mumbai and Pune.
