Part 1 & 2 edited together. WTAL was the #1 radio station in Tallahassee in the late 60s playing Top-40 music. This recording... which includes all the music and commercials... was Sunday night, January 19, 1969. The clip starts with the end of the Rich Bartlett show. We were both called in at the last minute for some reason. Technically speaking, the station was a nighmare. The audio quality is not great on this recording, but that's pretty much how the station sounded. The signal was so bad at night at the studio that they told me to bring my own transistor radio so I could be sure to hear the station. The signal would fade out on the studio off-air monitor and a station in Pensacola on the same frequency would fade in at times. In spite of it all, it was THE radio job I always wanted... Top 40 radio with jingles and a lot of energy.
