It’s been quite a Cape winter, chasing record storms, frantically repairing leaking storm-water drain pipes from the inside… in preparation for future storms
Each job is slightly different and we try approach it as practically as possible.
In these examples, we brush an epoxy coating onto the internal pipe walls throughout, from top to bottom, brushing epoxy into any holes or gaps along the way to create a solid seal and fill any gaps.
Some common faults found on these hidden rain-water pipes and catchments, especially on new-builds are:
1) Badly glued joints,
2) Holes punched through the pipe during construction / concrete work and then covered up.
3) Waterproofing that fails to cover the joints sufficiently at the Fullbore Outlet catchment,
4) No Fullbore catchment installed, but rather just a cement bowl into a PVC pipe,
All of which only show up during the rain, once the property has already been handed over.
In cases like this, we use a non-Structural repair like brush coating and a nice thick epoxy, because the holes can easily be filled and the structure is clearly sound.
We are able to offer a more budget repair by pouring instead of pumping the epoxy if possible.
The aim is to seal the leak, without breaking stuff! The drain camera guides the way.
A #recycle and #reuse mentality using a #brushcoating #pipe #relining method for #leakrepair on #drains and #fullbore #rain catchments guided by a #draincamera
