Starting in Bargersville, Indiana, Taxman has become a staple at all Big Reds. Specializing in quality Belgian style beers and constantly putting out new seasonals, you will soon see why they are one of our favorites.
Taxman La Maison
This is Taxman’s “house” farmhouse saison and is a truly great example of the style. This is a very crisp and refreshing beer with aromatic hops from the Pacific Northwest that add fragrant notes of citrus and grapefruit with a slight pine bitterness on the back end. The cherry on top would be the loads of honey from Hunter’s Farm that create a smooth finish not often seen in a 7% ABV brew. This is a great beer to start with when diving into the world of Belgians.
Taxman Gold Standard
What we like to call a beer flavored beer, the Gold Standard is Taxman’s abbey style blonde that is loaded with Belgian goodness. Clocking in at 6.2% ABV, this is the lowest gravity style from their core beers but is a great beer for any occasion. Loaded with Belgian esters, subtle malt flavors, and delicate grassy hops, this sparkling golden beer is very crisp and clean and tastes like it’s straight from Belgium.
Taxman Deduction
The Deduction is Taxman’s Belgian-style Dubbel that showcases sweet malty notes and hints of dark fruits. The darkest in hue of the four core beers, Deduction clocks in at 8% ABV and has a light, dry body that is complimented by Belgian candied sugar. A great example of a Belgian dubbel, this beer will surprise you with how smooth it drinks and is one of those brews that increase in flavor as it warms up.
Taxman Exemption
Probably the most popular of their core beers, Exemption is their Belgian-style tripel ale that clocks in at 8.5% ABV and is loaded with flavor. This crisp golden strong ale combines flavorful Belgian esters with coriander, lemon, and orange peel creating a surprisingly refreshing brew. With a moderate body created by white wheat, oat, and Belgian artisan malts, Exemption will finish incredibly smooth leaving you wanting more.
