Planetary scientists have previously discovered three of the five primary nucleaobases for DNA and RNA on meteorites. Now, Japanese researchers have discovered both purine and pyrimidine bases on meteorites, indicating that the fundamental building blocks for DNA and RNA came to earth from meteorites.
