Delta Air Lines Flight 191 crashed on August 2, 1985, while attempting to land at Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport during a severe thunderstorm. The Lockheed L-1011 TriStar aircraft encountered a microburst, causing it to lose altitude rapidly. The plane struck the ground and collided with vehicles on a highway before coming to a stop. The crash resulted in the deaths of 137 of the 163 people on board and one person on the ground.
