WHAT IS FRACTORA?
The Fractora RF laser uses fractional radio-frequency to resurface the skin through ablation. It stimulates the skin to tighten it, or can vapourize it like a conventional laser.
WHAT IS THE PROCEDURE USED FOR?
To provide improvements on skin wrinkles and tightness, to reduce laxity and make the skin tauter. Fractora can be used in areas that have fine or deep wrinkles, scars, stretch marks or discolored red and brown skin tone. The most common areas of treatment are the lower eyelid, upper eyelid, smile lines, cheeks, mouth and neck.
WHAT HAPPENS DURING THE PROCEDURE?
Dr Maini performs this procedure.
An hour before your procedure, an anesthetic cream will be applied to the area, and then again thirty minutes later.
There is a prickling sensation as the procedure is conducted. Some patients will elect to have a Dermalux treatment afterward to help with healing, then Vaseline is applied and aftercare instructions are given.
WHAT ARE THE SIDE EFFECTS OR RISKS?
There are very few risks or side effects when this treatment is used for deep skin tightening. Redness persisting for a couple of days is totally normal, with most people returning to work in 3-4 days.
WHAT RESULTS CAN I TYPICALLY EXPECT?
Fractora RF is designed as a course of 2-3 treatments, and because of this it's recommended you complete the course before determining the success of the treatment. Typically you will notice a deep tightening effect on the skin, and increased tautness around the jawline area, cheeks and neck. If required the cheeks could the be lifted further by using dermal fillers.
