The Indian Air Force has deployed one Chinook and Mi-17V5 helicopter to carry out human assistance and relief operations in the Kedar valley of Uttarakhand. The operation has been initiated to rescue the pilgrims struck in Kedarnath.
After heavy rains caused severe havoc in the state of Uttarakhand damaging the route in the Rudraprayag district, restoration and rescue work is underway to evacuate the people stranded.
