Thieves broke into cars in the parking lot of two Hapeville churches while their owners were inside for Sunday morning services.
People came out of their services to find glass everywhere, their windows smashed and belongings snagged from inside their vehicles. It happened at the First Baptist and St. John’s churches.
Police said about 24 cars were broken into at the churches while up to an addition half dozen were hit near the churches.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Hapeville Police Department.
