Delhi Jal Board (DJB) organised the ‘Sewer Suraksha Jagrukta’ workshop at Talkatora Stadium on July 15. Officials demonstrated ’Safe Sewer Cleaning’ practices at the workshop. Delhi chief minister and DJB chairman Arvind Kejriwal was present at the event, he facilitated DJB officials and workers holding an outstanding service record. CM Kejriwal was later briefed by DJB officials on mechanised and safe sewer cleaning practices. There have been a total of 620 cases of sewer deaths across fifteen states since 1993.
