How to quickly test if a starter relay has gone bad with no tools.
To test the starter relay, use a jumper wire and jump the two pins that go to the starter solenoid. Two pins on the relay come from the ignition key, and the other two go to the starter. When the two wires going to the starter are jumped, the starter should kick on. If the starter kicks on, then the relay is likely bad. Of course, be sure to check for any blown fuses. No tools are needed just a small jumper wire to connect the two pins together.
