Sligo Man, better known as Peter Bergmann, was found dead on a beach in County Sligo, Ireland, on June 16, 2009. The man took elaborate measures to conceal his identity, removing all labels from his clothes, cutting out identifying tags from his belongings, and leaving his false name, Peter in guest registration forms at the local hotel.

CCTV footage showed him behaving as if intentionally avoiding being identified. Despite extensive investigations by authorities and media coverage, his identity remains a mystery.
