Learn how to make cheesesteaks in your own kitchen on the Blackstone E Series electric griddle. Making this all-time delicious sandwich never got easier than on this easy-to-use electric flattop griddle by Blackstone. Shaved ribeye beef steak seasoned perfectly and served with sautéed onions and peppers covered in cheese on a butter-toasted hoagie bun.
Servings: 1
Shopping List:
1 lb. boneless ribeye steak
1/2 sweet onion
1/2 green bell pepper (optional)
3-6 slices provolone cheese (Cheez-Whiz optional)
Salt, pepper and garlic to taste
Cooking oil
Butter
2 hoagie buns
Directions:
If shaving the steak yourself, place it in the freezer for 30 minutes to firm it up to make it easier to shave thin. Another option is to have your butcher shave it.
Using a really sharp knife, shave the steak against the grain into very thin ribbon-like strips. Season generously with the SPG and toss.
Slice the onion and bell pepper into long thin strips and season with SPG. Toss.
Allow the steak and onions/peppers to set out to come to room temperature before cooking. This helps to not lower the griddle temp and for proper searing of the steak.
Pre-heat the Blackstone E Series electric griddle to 350 degrees.
Roll on some butter onto the griddle and place the hoagie buns in the butter to toast, about 1 minute or so. Set aside.
Roll down some more butter and place the onions/peppers onto the griddle and toss. Squirt a little water around the edge and close the lid to create steam. Cook about 5-7 minutes until softened, tossing as needed. Then push aside to a cooler side of the griddle while you cook the shaved steak.
Close the griddle lid and pre-heat the griddle to 425 degrees.
When the griddle is at 425 degrees, add a little cooking oil to the griddle and place the seasoned and shaved steak on the griddle and toss frequently until cooked through. This will not take long so don't walk away.
When the steak is done, toss with the onions/peppers.
Place 2-3 slices of cheese on top of beef/veggie mixture and close the lid to allow the cheese to melt.
Place toasted bun on top and scoop the mixture into the buns with a long plastic (do not use metal on this griddle) spatula.
Turn the sandwiches over and place 2-3 more slices of cheese on the top of the sandwiches, close the lid and allow it to melt.
Serve immediately and enjoy!
