On 14 November 1979, Prince Charles, Prince of Wales celebrated his 31st birthday by attending a Royal Charity Concert in London. At the top of the bill was Welsh superstar Shirley Bassey, who was seen laughing and drinking with the bachelor prince after the show.

Dame Shirley Bassey has been made a Companion of Honour at a ceremony at Windsor Castle, the exclusive title being presented to her by her old friend King Charles III. It was the first time the two had met since Charles became monarch.
