The perfect balm for skin conditions such as eczema and acne, and full of anti-inflammatories, anti-bacterials, anti-fungals, anti-histamines, and natural pain relief!
Ingredients:
222g Nettle, Mint and Calendula infused olive oil
133g Coconut Oil
133g Shea Butter
2 Tbsp Beeswax
(Shea Butter, Coconut Oil and Beeswax are interchangeable, but the more the merrier!)
*Optional* (Add whatever else you like that you find good for your skin or condition)
66g Hemp Seed Oil
2 Tbsp Neem Oil
1 Tsp Vitamin E Oil
8 Drops of Rose Geranium Oil
8 Drops of Eucalyptus Oil
8 Drops of Lavender Oil
Step By Step:
1 - In a glass jar, add dried or fresh nettle (as well as extra medicinal herbs like mint and calendula) and fill with a carrier oil like avocado, almond, or olive oil. Add a little high percentage alcohol to prevent mould. Keep the jar in a dark warm place for at least a month for the plants to steep into the oil.
2 - In a double boiler, or just a normal pot, melt coconut oil, shea butter or beeswax until it becomes a liquid.
3 - Remove pot from heat, and steep and add the nettle oil infusion, as well as any extra essential oils that your skin might thank you for.
4 - Transfer to a permanent container and place in a cool place or a fridge for the butter/wax/oil to solidify.
5 - Reap the medicinal benefits from your alchemised plant balm!
