Hey everyone, TheSalamanderMan is back with another video! This time I'm going over exactly how to create a simple yet effective enclosure for the terrestrial stage of the Eastern newt, the red eft. This is a budget friendly build and I've been utilizing this type of enclosure for some time now.
What you'll need:
-A small enclosure such as a medium to large size pet carrier
-Substrate, a coconut fiber top soil mix (almost equal parts of coconut fiber and top soil, just eye balling the amount here)
-Dried oak leaves
-A hiding spot for your newt, cork bark
Remember to mist the enclosure with a spray bottle to prevent drying!
