Dr. Douglas Chepeha received his medical degree from the University of Alberta and completed an otolaryngology/head and neck surgery residency at the University of British Columbia. He then went on to post-specialty fellowship training in head and neck oncology/microvascular reconstruction at the University of Toronto as well as a two-year joint council head and neck oncology fellowship at the University of Michigan. Chepeha joined the faculty of the University of Michigan in 1997 and was appointed director of microvascular reconstructive surgery in the Department of Otolaryngology. He received a master's degree from the School of Public Health in clinical research design and statistical analysis. Chepeha's research interests include the epidemiology and treatment of neck metastases, the advancement of head and neck microvascular reconstruction, and design and implementation of clinical trials. He specializes in treatment of head and neck cancer patients and the reconstruction of complex facial mouth and throat defects.
