Russian football now is renowned for its complete inability to perform well in Europe, however this was not always the case. Just 15 years ago, Valery Gazzaev's CSKA Moscow became the first Russian club to win a European trophy, and one of the only football clubs in the world to win a treble. Led by the likes of Vagner Love, a young Igor Akinfeev, Daniel Carvalho and other stars, the Armymen marched to the trophy in style, finishing off Sporting Lisbon on their home ground in the final.
This video takes you through CSKA's European campaign, and the subsequent impact it had on Russian football.
