This video will describe the tram system of Amsterdam, the capital of the Netherlands. Amsterdam is well-known for its broad approach to city planning, and recognised as an example of urbanism. The tram system plays an important role, both for short trips in the city center, but also as a lifeline for various districts. The tram fleet is highly standardised, with only 2 types. The Siemens Combino is the most dominant, with 155 trams roaming the rails in the city. CAF recently delivered 72 trams. Another unique factor is that lines retained their color coding, which was originally added for illiterate passengers, and now being a nod to the system's rich history.
This video is the 42nd episode of the series Urban Transport, with full-on descriptions of various urban public transport networks (mostly in Europe).
