In golf, shots don't always go as planned. When faced with a tricky situation, it's important to weigh your options and choose the shot with the best potential outcome. Consider two factors: the potential outcome of each shot and the likelihood of executing it successfully. If the chance of hitting a shot is less than 70%, it's best to choose another option. In this example, I am presented with two options: hitting a low runner between the trees or punching out to a favorable yardage for my next shot. The worst case scenario for the first option is double or triple bogey, while the worst case for the second option is bogey with a chance to save par. Make the smart decision and watch your scores improve.
