A conversation, in two parts, with Dr Rebecca Masterton on the Shi'a concept of the Awaited Imam, Imam al-Mahdi, who is expected to return in the End Times. The Shi'a believe that this person is none other than the Twelfth Imam, who has been hidden from human sight (in occultation) since the year 941CE. Eventually, in a time of God’s choosing, he will return to the earth to bring about a period in human history in which justice and peace will reign.
